Cepa Vieja For this is proud to announce that Michelin Guide has awarded a coveted star of the restaurant "Sale Moncalvillo" for its excellent track, where they have always opted to include our Wine ARAR in his letter, besides being Carlos Echapresto the editor of the official tasting of our wines each vintage ARAR.

The restaurant was founded in 1997 and soon Ignacio Echapresto inherited from his mother's apron with great success and was named Best Chef of Rioja in 2006. His brother Carlos took over the service and is recognized by the Regulatory Council of QDO Rioja as "The sommelier knows best and transmits the Rioja wine culture" to be the winner of the National Competition II Sommelier Rioja in 2008.

Given the local environment, a small village located in La Rioja only thirty people that has become the world's smallest town to host a Michelin star surrounded by a beautiful natural setting, the restaurant's philosophy could not be someone to take care of the guest to enjoy and feel at home. To achieve this, we have created several very comfortable spaces, where the client has only one obligation: to park their concerns and be led by Ignacio in kitchen and Carlos at the winery.

The menu is based on seasonal produce with dishes that change every season. In spring vegetables from own garden, in summer, incoming fresh fish in the autumn, mushrooms and fungi of the Sierra de Moncalvillo and winter, game meats and traditional dishes. Respecting traditional recipes and giving an excellent treatment of raw materials, Ignacio Echapresto brings personal touch of innovation in the working as the presentations of their dishes. The result is a rejuvenation of traditional cuisine with new shapes and textures with personal proposals.

Wine is a passion of these young people regarding the cuisine of La Rioja and test of this are the numerous awards they have received for your care of the wine. These include Spain Food Prize in 2006 for "Best facility in the treatment of wines" and special mention to "The Best Wine List. Moncalvillo consists of a main dining room and several private rooms, a terrace and an aperitif hall sitting with large assortment of coffees, spirits and tobacco.
